Alexis Sanders is only 27 years old and has taken the SEO community by storm recently with her awesome understanding of technical SEO and her super talented way of explaining how it all works to others. Alexis lives in Pittsburgh and is able to visit her family often in Maryland. Her mother is a successful lawyer and one of the Maryland’s Top 100 Women, her father is a successful contractor and all her family members seem super awesome and successful, just like Alexis - so I guess it runs in the family!
She speaks in the industry at many of the SEO conferences, she writes at many of the industry publications, she is always sharing on social media and joining in on the technical SEO questions as she can. She is super nice, humble, friendly and eager to help others. She even has designed some neat tools and games to help others as well.
David Iwanow's nomination of her was:
Pushing technical SEO up a level and sharing their learnings with the industry.

Alexis is one of the nicest, most helpful SEOs out there. While she can fly under the radar (seriously, more people should follow her) many are familiar with her work, including technicalseo.expert and her weekly SEO experiments, which she publishes to twitter . She is smart, humble, hungry to learn and always willing to share + help. A great representative to this community.
I am super excited to see her career advance and what she is able to share with the industry.

Favorite thing about the SEO community? The SEO community has many people that ended up in this field by happenstance; however, all of the different backgrounds and interests end up creating a very diverse, intelligent group of people, who all are driven by a desire to improve/grow. I find that energy refreshing!
One piece of advice to the SEOs out there? Focus on what’s best for the user.
Favorite things in general?
- Color = orange (particularly yellow orange), #ffce42
- Food = chicken and dumplings (made by my mom) 😊
- Things to do = workout, spend time with family/friends (nothing beats a good conversation), reading, writing, drawing/painting/spray painting, cook a good meal, drink tea/coffee, binging TV shows (last few: Westworld, Sense8, The Office, Altered Carbon, Stranger Things, BoJack Horseman, Rick and Morty, Chef’s Table)
What you want to be known for in the SEO space? Honestly, I’m not sure. I’m interested in a variety of different aspects of search, it would be a different answer every time. In terms of long term stretch goals, I’d like to become an expert on all areas affecting a website (including: SEO, IA, CRO, WPO, UX, and Analytics), translating high-level executive objectives into actionable recommendations across a site.
