Greg Sterling got the scope on a new Apple service named Apple Maps Connect. The service allows business owners to finally manage their business listings for Apple Maps.
My business moved over three years ago, but Apple Maps listed the old address for the business and there was almost no way for me to communicate the move directly to Apple. That is until today.
Here is my listing for my business on Apple Maps that currently shows the old address:
Last night, I was able to submit a change through Apple Maps Connect.
You first search for your business name and location:
Then it will show you the record and ask you if you are the business owner or authorized to make the change. Then you are able to edit the data:
I've updated the data and was able to verify via a phone call and entering a pin (if you have a PBX, this can be hard to do).
In addition to that, the navigation at the top left looks like this:
Note the indoor feature, it is a beta and only accepted for highly trafficked places, here is more on that feature:
My update still reads as of this morning "Waiting for Review" so I hope it is updated soon.
Greg has a few more screen shots of the process at Search Engine Land.
This only works currently for U.S. based businesses.
