An interesting note about the stemming (which is actually a note about the strength of backlinks) I was looking into the word "SEO Consulting" for which I rank #1 yet I do not have 1 instance (And never have) of the word "consulting" However, I did have "consultant" and thus I had passed this off as keyword stemming. After reading the post about using + to return exact results I went back in and typed "SEO+Consulting" (Should have not returned my site, yet there I was at #1 again.above sites that used "seo consulting in their title and had "Expert SEO Consulting by an Experienced" as an H1 right off the bat) I then looked deeper into the result by checking the cache and going through backlinks and low and behold I have a sponsored PR 8 link with that exact phrase.
Granted "SEO consulting" isnt the toughest nut to crack, but my site is hardly "the most relevant" considering onpage criteria however this backlink alone seems to be enough hmmmm....Anchor text anyone? I will be testing this at SEO Tests in the next few weeks and shall be back to post results Oh and btw I don't think incoming anchor text is the cause of post florida drops but thats for another post. Cheers
