Back in March 2005, almost a year ago, Ben wrote a detailed article he named Google Developing An Internet Operating System? and then Nacho wrote an other entry here during the end of June 2005 named Google OS in the Works?

Guess what? Everyone is talking about a Register.co.uk article named Google at work on desktop Linux released yesterday showing that it is in the works.

Google is preparing its own distribution of Linux for the desktop, in a possible bid to take on Microsoft in its core business - desktop software.

A version of the increasingly popular Ubuntu desktop Linux distribution, based on Debian and the Gnome desktop, it is known internally as 'Goobuntu'.

Google has confirmed it is working on a desktop linux project called Goobuntu, but declined to supply further details, including what the project is for.
