Remember when I reported that Google confirmed that they would stop testing font styles in AdSense because it really annoyed their publishers? Well, it seems like Google is back at it again, testing new font options on some publisher ads.
An official Google representative, AdSensePro Ashley, said in a Google Groups thread that they are testing revised font options on a "limited number of ad units." Here is her announcement:
As you may have noticed, we are currently displaying new text ad fonts in a limited number of ad units. Our engineers are closely monitoring the results of this test, and are keen to have your feedback. What are your thoughts on the new ad fonts? Also, would you prefer AdSense to determine the font that is the best fit for your site, or would you rather choose the font in your ad units?
Thanks in advance for your input
Interesting that Google would continue this test. Why not just give the font options to the publisher, give them the control?
We did report on August 15th, Friday, that Google was testing black AdSense borders, which is likely part of this announcement. As you can imagine, most publishers are not happy with this test, being that they can not opt out of it.
