- Hubble Telescope Launch Remember By Google
Saturday marks the 20th birthday of the Hubble Telescope launch. Specifically, April 24, 1990 was the launch date and to remember the date, Google posted a special logo on their home page. The logo is now live at Google Australia where it is already Saturday. Here is a picture: The neat part is that if you click on the planets, it takes you to Google Sky. Google has two new logos up today, one on Google UK and another on Google Turkey. In the UK, they are celebrating St. George's Day and in Turkey they are celebrating Children's Day. Google and I probably did a total of 50 warnings that the Google AdWords API is closing down v13 and migrating to v200909. That finally happened yesterday when Google closed down most of the v13 API services. If you try to use Google Maps UK to get driving directions from London to Nottingham, you will be out of luck. According to Google Maps there is no way to get from one city to the next. Try it, go to Google Maps, click on driving directions, enter in London to Nottingham and click go. You will be presented with an error that reads, "We could not calculate directions between London and Nottingham." Here - Google Maps Adds Smooth Scrolling
Google Operating System spotted that Google Maps added "kinetic scrolling," which is a form of smooth fluid scrolling, on Google Maps.
