I found this too funny to pass up on. Via abstrusegoose.com: Forum discussion at Google Blogoscoped Forums. - LASIK Surgeons No Longer Considered "Excessive" On Google Places
There was a recent bug reported at the Google Places Help forum where LASIK surgeons were unable to update their profile. The error the LASIK surgeons were receiving from Google said, "excessive capitalization error." That means the word "LASIK" can't be capitalized in Google Places. Thing is, LASIK stands for laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis and most people who use the word do capitalize it. Last night, if you tried to do a YouTube search, you may have received nothing in return. YouTube is often concerned the second largest search engine due to it's immense popularity. A bug with the search feature prevented many from conducting basic search queries on YouTube.com. YouTube's Liz confirmed the bug in a YouTube Help thread. Liz said: Our team is aware of the reason for this bug and tonight the fix is going to - Google's Site Performance Report Slow To Update (Last Update: September 1st)
A Google Webmaster Help thread asks why the site performance report in Google Webmaster Tools hasn't updated in 15 days. The last time the report updated for this user was on September 1, 2010. The individual said they "updated our site last night with speed enhancements (now 2 to 3 times faster than previous)" and wants to know when to expect Google to update the report. A WebmasterWorld thread points out that Google Korea is showing "Related Searches" and "Hot Topics" on the right side of the page. The right side of the page is normally reserved for Google AdWords ads. Now, I am not sure if this is new behavior from Google Korea, the Asian Google properties normally act different than the other properties. But the thread suggests this is a rip off of Bing.
