Kim Krause Berg, who we profiled, announced at her Cre8asite Forums that she is closing down the forums after 20 years of operations on May 25, 2018. The date is interesting because of it overlapping with the GDPR date, although Kim doesn't mention that as the reason she is closing it.
Kim said there is nothing to look into with this news, it is just time she said:
There is no easy way to say this, so I'll make it simple. On May 25, 2018 these forums will close down. I'll make an announcement in public next week. For now, the only people who are regulars here can be found here in LABS, and it's you that I feel should learn first.
No need to read much into it. It's been over 20 years.
It's time.
Many forums have come and gone over the 20 year period, including our own forums, Jim World, High Rankings and IHelpYou and many others.
Kim is at a new stage of her life, she has given every bone of her body to the industry and now it is time for her to slow it down a bit.
The forums were launched in 1998 as an "SEO teaching club by Kim Krause Berg." She wrote "she was soon joined by co-admins Bill Slawski, Ammon Johns and Jill Whalen. In 20 years, many now famous people were part of the staff. In 2012 Internet Marketing Ninjas acquired these forums. In December of 2017 Kim bought them. We were the first forums to discuss usability and accessibility and allow members to participate in the Website Hospital. These forums are moderated by "cre8pc" and "iamlost"."
Just place the name in this site search box, you will see us mentioning the forums thousands of times.
Kim - we love you, we support you - thank you for giving yourself for the past 20 years and maintaining Cre8asiteforums where many of us grew up learning about SEO.
