Dan Sharp is 36 years old, lives in Henley-on-Thames, in Oxfordshire, in the UK. Dan is the man behind Screaming Frog, one of the most respected log file analysis tools you can get. It is SEO Spider software that helps SEOs understand how other search engines spider there sites. The software has become a staple in the SEO toolkit and is often praised and loves by many SEOs in the industry.

Dan is also extremely active on social media and in the various SEO communities. Often giving up a lot of his time to help the industry as whole and on an individual basis. His technical know-how and deep understanding of the web and how bots interact with it are amazing.

Damien Anderson nominated Dan and wrote:

Dan is one of the quiet innovators of our industry. His dedication to achieving results, and determination make him an invaluable business partner.

Dan Sharp Bio: In 2010 Dan Sharp co-founded Screaming Frog, who are a search marketing agency based in the UK, that develop the Screaming Frog SEO Spider software and Log File Analyser. Dan has developed SEO strategies for a variety of clients from international brands to small and medium sized businesses for well over a decade, working in some of the most competitive industries.

Screaming Frog developed the industry leading Screaming Frog SEO Spider software, trusted by thousands of SEOs and SEO agencies worldwide rather selfishly for themselves originally, before deciding to release a free and paid version to the community.

Favorite thing about the SEO community? I have been lucky enough to meet some amazing people in the industry and make some great friends. I love the way the industry is so close-knit, it feels completely unique in this way. I also love that most SEOs are very helpful and supportive of each other as well. There’s a ‘we’re all in this together’ mentality.

One piece of advice to the SEOs out there? I’d just recommend all SEOs perform their own research and testing, rather than rely on advice from others, or the search engines alone.

Favorite things in general? I am a Gooner (which means, an Arsenal fan. Arsenal are a football (soccer) club in London) and try to watch as many games as possible. I’m also learning to the play the guitar, after years of drumming. My old college rock band was called Slippery Fish, so Screaming Frog was a natural evolution in naming.

What you want to be known for in the SEO space? I am really not too bothered about being known for anything personally. If Screaming Frog can help make SEOs lives a bit easier, and If people like the stuff we do, that’s cool.
