The other day we reported that John Mueller of Google said they won't show content hidden within expandable divs or accordions as snippets in search. Yes, they will index and rank that content but not show it as snippets. But can this type of content be shown in Google's featured snippets?
John Mueller said on Twitter that he doesn't believe Google will show content in these expandable elements in Google' featured snippets.
I don't know for sure, but my understanding is that it would.

I actually asked this at SMX Advanced to a few hundred people in the audience and only one person raised their hand when I asked if they saw Google show a featured snippet for content that is within expandable elements.
Do you have examples of Google ever using content within expandable elements as their featured snippets? If so, share it in the comments.
Forum discussion at Twitter.
Update: As expected, folks in the comments below are sharing examples of hidden content showing for featured snippets. Here is some feedback on Twitter also:
Highly doubt this result will maintain itself long-term, but this is a decent example of G showing a Featured Snippet from hidden content. Not saying hidden content is an ideal scenario (G is probably working hard to surface it), but good to know it's possible. pic.twitter.com/JqfMdl9GGo
