Google AdWords announced quietly on Google+ that they are now changing the way how they handle displaying unicode characters in the display URLs. Google said display URLs in Unicode characters will show as Unicode characters regardless of the user's Google language preference.

Previously, Google AdWords would only show the display URL in Unicode characters if its language matched the user's Google language preference. That will no longer be the case.

This went into effect yesterday.
