Google has launched a new tool to help advertisers upgrade their Product Listing Ads (PLAs) campaigns to Google Shopping ad campaigns.
As you know, Google PLAs are being retired by the end of this month and the campaigns will be auto-upgraded to Google Shopping campaigns. Google wants you do to the upgrade yourself, so you can see the outcome, otherwise they will do it automatically for you.
This new tool will you select the regular Product Listing Ads campaign you want to upgrade, and AdWords will try to create a new Shopping campaign for you based on that campaign. During this process, you choose the status you want to set for your existing campaign and your new Shopping campaign, once it’s created. You can find a link to the upgrade tool from the Settings tab of any regular Product Listing Ads campaign that hasn’t already been submitted using the tool.

Note that not all campaigns are compatible with this upgrade tool. If, for example, you use AdWords labels or groupings in your product targeting or inventory filters, you must update your data feed with custom labels before you use the upgrade tool, unless you’re happy to use another attribute to subdivide your inventory in AdWords directly.
