Google seems to be going after team rosters with the latest Google AI Overview to overtake website content for its own AI-generated version of that content. If you search for certain team rosters, Google will generate an AI answer, an AI Overview, with the answer.

This was spotted by Glenn Gabe, he posted on X saying, "Sites providing sports rosters are going to love this one... I searched for the Raiders roster during their game on Sunday and I was surprised to see an AIO show up listing the entire team... That never showed up for me before."

Here is the desktop version but the mobile version is insanely long:

Raiders Roster Google Ai Overview

So that one shows up first, but for the NY Jets, it is below the official NY Jets website:

Jets Roster Google Ai Overview

For some other teams, like the New York Giants or Green Bay Packers, they do not show up at all for me:

Packers Roster Google No Ai Overview

Giants Roster Google No Ai Overview

AI Overviews will eventually take over everything, it is just a matter of time... Just count your characters...
