John Mueller of Google made an important distinction on Twitter last week saying that the AMP filter you get in the Google Search Console Search Analytics report only shows you data based on the Top Stories section.
That means that when Google brought AMP to the core mobile results, expanding it from the initial launch of just showing it in the top stories section/carousel, that the Search Analytics report doesn't count those AMP pages outside of the top stories section.
John said "the AMP filter's currently for Top Stories; check your URL patterns for the full picture."
Track your AMPs in Search Console/Search Analytics? The AMP filter's currently for Top Stories; check your URL patterns for the full picture

John Shehata posted on Twitter a screen shot of how you can filter to see AMP pages, if you use the /amp parameter in your URLs, which most people do.
This is an important point, but I suspect the AMP filter will eventually start working for items outside of the top stories section as well at some point?
