Google AMP Goes Live Now

Google AMP

I am now seeing reports around the web that Google AMP, the web page speed initiative backed by Google, is now live in the Google mobile search results. It was expected to go live any time now but AdAge reported that it would be tomorrow. I guess it is going live today.

Personally, I do not see it yet but several searches do. Jennifer Slegg spotted it so did @conradoconnell, @christian_wilde and others.

Here are photos from them:

See the AMP icon? That means it is serving AMP specific pages.

Again, Google has not confirmed it went live but it is clearly now rolling out. I personally do not see AMP results in the Google News carousel but many are seeing it now.

Do you see it?

It should only show up for queries that trigger the news carousel to come up on your mobile searches.

Update: Now I see it at 8:45pm EST and it is not in the Google News Carousel, but just the Google News listings:

Also, here is a picture of this story showing up for a search on [google] that is AMP ready. I literally went AMP friendly yesterday (February 22nd) at 3:30pm EST:
