On the American Google home page today you will see a special Google logo, aka a Doodle, for the 151st birthday of Annie Jump Cannon. Annie Jump Cannon was an American astronomer born December 11, 1863 in Delaware. She is most well known for the development of contemporary stellar classification, the classification of stars based on their spectral characteristics.
She died at the age of 77 in Cambridge, Massachusetts on April 13, 1941.
If you go to the Google search results for this Google Doodle search, you will see the In The News box that actually links to the doodle page, which is interesting.
