Google: Checkmark ✓ Characters In Titles Looks Spammy

So some one asked John Mueller of Google if it is okay to use checkmark characters, i.e. ✓, in your title tags. The question was would it make the title tag look more readable.

John responded that no, it makes it less readable and makes it look spammy.

I don't think you'd want to make your site look spammy, so maybe stay away from checkmarks in your title tags. Got that?
