Google's John Mueller hosted a 100 or so person pre-SMX Munich talk with SEOs and developers the other day. Valentin Pletzer was there and he shared on Twitter that John Mueller said they do plan on closing down the old Search Console, it might be by the end of this year he said.
Valentin wrote "He said the infrastructure behind old search console is going away, therefor there is a final deadline for the old search console (nothing to announce; maybe end of year)."
It pre-@smxmuenchen and @JohnMu did a short Q&A with about a 100 in-house SEOs. He said the infrastructure behind old search console is going away, therefor there is a final deadline for the old search console (nothing to announce; maybe end of year)

He also added that Google may shut down some more features in the old Search Console even before they replace it in the new Search Console. Google is still not sure if they want to migrate over things like crawl stats and budget related reports.
And Google thinking about stuff like: is it useful to show information about crawl budget in new search console
