Google Contributor Program Will Fail

Contributor By GoogleGoogle launched a new "experiment" named Contributor by Google. The concept is you pay a monthly fee to Google, Google will then remove some of the ads you see across the web, in exchange, Google will give the publisher a portion of those fees.

So you are paying to remove AdSense and Google Display Network ads. Instead, you get empty boxes saying you paid to remove the ad.

Here is a picture of what it looks like when you pay to remove ads:

In short, the user pays between $1 and $3 per month, you specify the amount. The concept is the more you contribute, the more you support the websites you visit. Then when that user visits a participating website, part of your contribution goes to the creators of that site. Plus, as a reminder you’ll see a thank you message where you might normally see an ad.

I have strong doubts that this will work, strong doubts. I would have preferred to see this on the search ads, not the display network ads. :)

You can just get a free ad blocker instead. :)
