A few days ago, it was reported that Google removed the "don't be evil" from their code of conduct. Instead of the code of conduct starting with the phrase, now it ends with "And remember… don’t be evil, and if you see something that you think isn’t right – speak up!"
Prior, the Google code of conduct started with the "don't be evil" and now it just reminds you at the way end, to try not to be evil.
Don't be evil has been engrained in the company in early 2000 by Paul Buchheit. Matt Cutts even spent time in 2011 explaining the different between "Don't Be Evil" vs. "Do No Evil". It is a super important motto that earlier Googlers adopted and held tightly.
They had a meeting room with the name, they even had it printed on umbrellas. But now, it is like an afterthought.
No one would deny, the company is a different company from 2000 or even 2015.
It is the end of an era?
