Today on most of the Google home pages is a logo for a female biochemist named Dorothy Mary Hodgkin. It would be here 104th birthday today, born on May 12, 1910 in Egypt and passing at the age of 84 on July 29, 1994 in England.
In 1964 she won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, 1976 received the Copley Medal and in 1982 was awarded the Lomonosov Gold Medal.
She was well known for making major advancements to X-ray crystallography and confirming the structure of penicillin.
