dead emojiAs expected, Google has finally dropped the Emoji characters from displaying in the Google search results. Although it took them several more weeks than expected, the emojis are gone from the Google search results.

Jennifer Slegg first reported it this morning.

The Emojis began showing up in Google's desktop results back in April. But they have been showing in the mobile results for years and years. But now they are not only gone from the desktop results but also the mobile results.

I personally cannot replicate emojis showing up on either desktop or mobile on any of my dozens of devices.

I'll miss the emojis but I do believe the Google results are better off without them.
