Google Featured Snippets Relocates AMP Icon

Earlier this month we reported that Google started to show AMP links for featured snippets in their search results. Well, the AMP icon is now less noticeable in this featured snippet box, while it remains the same on non-featured snippet results.

Here is the way it looked when it launched:

It had both the AMP logo and the word AMP in gray. Now here is a screen shot of just the AMP icon on the left of the URL section:

This new method looks a bit weird and needs some padding between the icon and the site name.

Glenn Gabe notified me of this on Twitter and said Google is providing the AMP version for featured snippets & now it looks like they are testing a new treatment. Just the icon, no "AMP".
