In 2014, Google's Fetch as Google, the fetch and fender tool in the Google Search Console stopped working with hashbang URLs, URLs that have the #! in them. Well, starting sometime last fall, Google began supporting it again in the Fetch as Google tool. Probably sometime around the same time they announced they killed off the old AJAX crawl schema?
John Mueller from Google said on Twitter he believes the support was added back last fall:
I think this happened in the fall, but my sense of time has been skewed recently :). It's useful to be able to test #! URLs directly.

I don't personally have any sites in my Google Search Console list that are powered by hashbang URLs, but if you do, give it a try.

Update: Here are more details on how the Fetch as Google tool sees these types of URLs.
