Back in April we reported about issues with recipe rich results in Google. This was an issue that recipe sites started to lose their rich results and cards in masses. Well, back on June 28th, 2+ months after the issue, Google seems to have mostly fixed the problem.
Jeff Hawley has been following the issue closely and confirmed for me yesterday that the issue is mostly resolved now. He said on Twitter "We still saw issues on 6/25, but on 6/28 we saw the first major improvement."
Here are his tweets when I asked him for an update on this issue:
Significantly! We still saw issues on 6/25, but on 6/28 we saw the first major improvement. There are still hiccups here and there but this feels pretty well resolved now.

The biggest concern for those impacted is how to recover content that dropped off during this bug. Some recovered automatically, but I feel like we just have to accept that this is the new norm and work up from here.

It is unclear what the issue was, I am being told from these sites that they didn't have to specifically do anything to be impacted by this bug or recover from the bug. Google did chime in a while back that they were investigating it but nothing happened for months.
This was passed on to the right team, which is looking into the issues.

Now it seems to be resolved.
