Google Glass To Get Help From High End Glasses Maker

Google GlassGoogle announced on their Google+ page that they are partnering with Luxottica Group, the company behind the brands Ray-Ban, Oakley, Vogue-Eyewear, Persol, Oliver Peoples, Alain Mikli and Arnette to make high end luxury frames for Google Glass.

Google thinks this partnership will make Google Glass more appealing to the average person on the street. I guess it depends how much they can blend in that big thick side bar and piece of glass sticking over the lens?

Here is how Google put it:

Luxottica understands how to build, distribute and sell great products that their clients and consumers love – something we care deeply about at Glass, too. They’ll bring design and manufacturing expertise to the mix, and, together, we’ll bring even more Glass style choices to our Explorers. In addition, Luxottica’s retail and wholesale distribution channels will serve us well when we make Glass available to more people down the road.

When is this happening? When will we see Oakley frames for Google Glass? Google didn't say but in the future we should see them.
