Google Inviting Glass v1 Explorers To Upgrade Before Christmas

Google Glass v2Last night, along with other original Google Glass Explorers, I received an email from Google Glass telling me I am going to be receiving a box in the mail to swap out my original version of Google Glass with the upgraded version.

Google announced the upgraded version of Google Glass a couple months ago and announced original v.1 users can upgrade for free. That time has come, while new Explorers have been getting the default v.2 anyway.

Here is the invite email text:

The sad part for me is that it appears you need to send back v1 before you get v2, which means we will be without Glass for at least a couple days.

Side note: I can invite a couple people to buy Glass. You must be a U.S. resident, 18 years old, have a US address and be able to pay $1,500+tax to Google for them. If you want, let me know why and I'll see what I can do.

Update: I got my shipping box to swap it out. I called Google to see if I can give them my credit card as a hold, so I don't have to be without Glass for a few days. They said they don't offer that for the upgrade swap. Anyway, here is the picture:
