Google Glass Transit DirectionsGoogle announced on Google+ a new update to the Google Glass software codenamed XE10. I got the update last night and this is one of the most limited updates Google released for Glass in a while.

But... The Transit aspect of the update was no doubt a major undertaking for Google to get right in Glass.

Just like any of the mapping directions features in Google Glass, Transit directions only work if your Glass device is paired with an Android device. iOS users are out of luck.

Another update, which is nice, are hyperlinks in tweets. I used it a few times last night, while I was out.

Google said:

  • You can now tap to visit links sent in tweets, texts, emails, and more. To visit a link, tap on the card and select View site.
  • When sending messages or making comments, you'll now see the profile pictures of those you're conversing with in the background.

So if I wanted to go to the bus stop outside my window and get to Times Square, this is what I would see (click to enlarge):
