The biggest news item out of yesterday's Google Performance Summit is that they said they handle trillions of searches per year. The last time Google gave any figure on their search volume was in 2012 when they said 1.2 trillion in 2012.
Now they said "trillions" but wouldn't give the exact numbers. So Danny assumes it is at least two trillion but probably more. Can't say trillions without it being over 2.
That means close to 200 billion searches per month or 4 million per minute.
We also know that at least half of those are over mobile, so there are at least a trillion searches done per year on Google on mobile devices. I assume many of those are voice enabled, many are local and so forth.
Danny breaks down the stats over here.
