It has been a while since I reported on a Google Image Search update but there seems to have been one over the weekend.
A WebmasterWorld thread and Google Webmaster Help thread have posts about it. The WebmasterWorld one comes from someone who has been monitoring the Google Image Search index for as long as I can remember.
It is not often where forum member, Zeus, calls any update "big" but here he did. He said, there are "extreme changes" in the index.
Another webmaster said he ranked very well for 8 years and all of a sudden, his images are no longer to be found for their main keyword searches.
Did you notice a major image search update at Google?
There is no official word from Google on this update, in fact, Google has never really offered "weather reports" for image search updates.
Maybe it has to do with the EMD update (exact match domain Google update)?
I actually scheduled this post, I wrote it Saturday night, so I am not sure if things will go back to normal between the time I write this and when it is posted on Monday morning. I will be offline until Tuesday night and won't be able to check until then (I am sorry).
