Google+ Local International Phone Number Bug

A Google Business Help forum thread has a complaint from a local business owner that says Google has reverted the area code of his phone number on his Google+ Local listing.

Here is a picture of his listing:

Google+ Local International Phone Number

The issue is that Google is replacing the area code by removing the 0 and adding a 1. He said:

(07) 3345 2097 will end up displaying as either 733452097 (minus the 0 at the start) or +1 733452097

Clearly this can be an issue for consumers looking to call the store from their phones.

Google is aware of the issue.

Jade Wang from Google said:

This is an issue that's affecting some international local-verified social local Google+ pages -- team's looking into it. Thanks for reporting!
