The Mexican-American singer Selena Quintanilla is now being featured on the Google home page. She only lived 23 years but she has made a huge impact on so many lives in her short time on this planet.
Google's Perla Campos, from the Doodle team wrote:
Today we celebrate Selena Quintanilla: Mexican-American music & entertainment icon, fashion trendsetter, passionate entrepreneur, community philanthropist, and one of the people who taught me growing up that no matter who you are or where you come from, anything is possible.
She was born on April 16, 1971 in Lake Jackson, Texas and was murdered on March 31, 1995 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a singer, songwriter, spokesperson, model, actress, and fashion designer. They called her the Queen of Tejano music, she was named the top selling Latin artist of the 1990s decade.
