As many of you know, when you search for a local place, the local panel will come up with information on that place. This is also the case with searching in Google Maps directly. In those panel have a link to "suggest an edit" - where the searcher can try to make a change to the local venue's details. Supposedly, those suggest an edit requests are being approved much quicker than in the past.

A Local Search Forums thread has a few local SEOs claiming the speed to when you suggest an edit and when it actually gets approved is way faster now than it was in the past. Here are some of the comments from the thread:
I've noticed that a significant amount of suggested edits were accepted in the last 2 days.
I had 6 unexpected old edits approved in the last couple of days too
They are saying that this is leading to spam and map hacks again.
Maybe something is wrong or maybe this is the expected new behavior?
