We know Matt Cutts, likely one of the most significant personalities at Google for webmasters, took leave just under a year ago and remains on leave today. Recently, Google confirmed his position has been replaced where someone, unnamed, has taken the helm of the web spam team.
The question many webmasters are asking, including at WebmasterWorld, are web as webmasters and SEOs better off?
Was Matt Cutts a champion, voice of reason, a supporter of webmasters or the anti-webmaster that some make him out to be?
I know many of you know my thoughts. I personally think he was one of the best things for webmasters. But many disagree.
Take my poll, do you think we are better off?
You know my vote, but don't let that sway yours.
It doesn't mean Matt isn't at Google, he is, he was just at I/O with a Google badge. He is still around he says, but at what capacity?
