With the big news around Googlebot now being evergreen and running the latest version of Chromium and thus being able to access 1000+ new features on web pages, you'd think we'd see it. But no, we don't see it yet and no - the mobile-friendly test and probably the other testing tools do not support it yet.
I suspect we will see it soon but right now, GoogleBot in all of my access logs show Chrome 41, not Chrome 74.
And Martin Splitt from Google confirmed that the mobile-friendly test has yet to be updated:
It's not updated yet :S

The testing tools haven't been updated yet. We work on resolving this. Luckily, if it works in the tools, it'll work in Google Search - but if you get errors, you'll have to check if that's a compatibility problem with the old Chrome. More about this in https://t.co/mshKgwn8aI

I assume Google will be updating all of there tools when they get back from I/O - so maybe in the next week or so?
As they do and we hear about it, we will keep you posted. But as of right now, I don't see GoogleBot switch over to Chrome 74, nor the Google tools.
