A few minutes ago, I wrote about how Google can look up in real time if you have an algorithmic penalty. I then hinted again at Google providing an automated action viewer in the Google Search Console.
Google's Gary Illyes quickly responded on Twitter saying "it's not going to happen anytime soon."
Aww, why not just rip the hearts out of webmasters (and hobbyists):
@glenngabe @ShahMenz @rustybrick it's not going to happen anytime soon.

Okay, we knew it wouldn't be coming any time soon. But at least he didn't say "never." There is still a chance it may come in the future, but we know not this year, maybe next?
Of course, we can understand why it might not make sense for Google to provide this information in detail. According to Google, every site is impacted by many algorithms on some level. There are many algorithms. It would be hard to communicate this effectively to most webmasters. Plus you have people trying to reverse engineer it and spam it.
But Google is smart, I am sure they can figure out a good way to make this work.
