Google: Don't Nofollow Good Links On Your Web Site

Google LinksGoogle's John Mueller is cleaning out his inbox by answering some generic SEO questions on Google+. The latest Google+ post answers the question, should I use the nofollow attribute on links on my web site to try to harvest the link equity to stay within my own web site (PageRank sculpting).

We discussed this before and the answer from Google remains the same, do not do that.

The question:

I link to a lot of great sites from my content, should I add nofollow to those links to keep the ratio of inbound:outbound links high?

The answer:

Nah, there's no need to add nofollow to natural links in your content.

Google wants you to build normal web sites, but sometimes that doesn't end up rankings. So SEOs look for ways to tip the scale.
