Google+ is polluted with complaints about how there are notifications (little red icons and numbers) in the Google+ iOS and Android apps that you cannot dismiss.
The post that is getting the most attention on Google+ is from JR Raphael, a writer for Computerworld, PCWorld, SeaWorld and other places. He shared a screen shot of his notification bar in Google+ and wrote:
Google, are you seriously going to make me keep swiping away user suggestions one by one every time I open this app? How about a "dismiss all" option -- or better yet, a way to disable that new notification altogether?
I ran into the same issue yesterday on my iOS app. I just closed it out and tucked it away because I couldn't dismiss all those new notifications.
For someone like me, and there are many like me, that hate red icons on their apps or not having a tidy notification bar, this is very annoying.
