Google added three new features to Google Now On Tap, which works on Android devices running Marshmallow or higher.
Google added the ability to translate any page or app you are looking at, the ability to click on a discover icon to find out more about what you are looking at and the ability to scan QR codes or barcodes.
The translation works for phones with the language set to English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian. You click on the translate button and it will translate the text for you. Google used this photo showing Japanese text translated, even thought it doesn't show it as supported.
The discover feature is a new button that when tapped on, it will bring up cards of information based on the content on the screen you are looking at. Google said it is "perfect for browsing and exploring, rather than searching for something in particular."
Here is a GIF of it in action:
Finally, now you can also scan QR codes or barcodes with Now on Tap to get quick information about that product or SKU.
