Google's John Mueller: Working On Making Penguin & Panda Run Faster, Again

May 20, 2015 - 8:33 am 20 by

Google Penguin SlowIn a recent Google+ Hangout with Google's John Mueller, someone asked "Are you working on a Panda update or data refresh? It’s been a long time, everyone is frustrated."

In which, John Mueller said yes, they are. But he actually added that they are looking for ways to make it (the Penguin and Panda algorithms) "little bit faster" to update the data.

Deja vu? Yes - we heard the same thing back in September 2014 and then the new Penguin algorithm rolled out, still slow rolling - so I am not sure what to make of this new statement.

John said this at the 25 minute mark into the video:

We are working on updates there. I don’t have any time frames at the moment but I know the team is working on that. I know it is frustrating, if you’ve worked a lot on your web site already to clean up these issues.

The same applies to Penguin as well. Where maybe you cleaned up a lot of web spam issues. And you are just waiting for things to kind of open up again.

And that is something we are definitely working on to kind of update that data again to make it a little bit faster.

Here is the video:

I hope so, but I am not betting on it.
