Over the weekend, savvy webmasters and SEOs noticed a huge spike in complaints around manual actions issued within Google Webmaster Tools in the Polish regions.
Bartosz Goralewicz emailed me over the weekend and told me he was trying to get confirmation from Google's Polish Webmaster representative, Karolina Kruszyńska.
Well he did! Yesterday, Bartosz asked on Twitter and Karolina confirmed on Twitter saying:
Yes, we have taken action against one of the systems to exchange links.
She then posted on Twitter an English version:
Today Google took action on a large link network in Poland.
Which network? Bartosz believes it was PROLINK.pl.
Poland and link spam is a pretty big issue. Google has went after many Polish link networks in the past. We've documented several cases in the past and Google has come out strong telling us many Polish SEOs harm their clients and even posted it on their blog. That lead to Google putting their foot in their mouth but that is now all fixed.
In any event, Google has targeted another massive link network in Poland. Check your Google Webmaster Tools to ensure you were not hit.

Later today, Prolink.pl has confirmed the penalty on their Facebook page.
