As Danny Sullivan reported a couple weeks ago, Google has expanded Google Posts into museums, movies, musicians & sports groups. Google Posts are a way for brands and personalities to share information in more real time within the knowledge panel in search.
Here is an example of Google Posts now showing for the [new your mets] (yes, I am also a Jets fan, sad - sad life). You can see above the roster are posts from the official New York Mets social team as they posted over here - an extension from Google+.
RankRanger spotted this and posted about it on Twitter.
This isn't new, they just expanded it. It was first introduced with the elections and debate and then we even saw GIFs in them, which is still supported.
In any event, we will see how much further Google expands Google Posts, they do plan to keep expanding it over time.
