Google's John Mueller was asked about what makes quality content, um, quality. In which, John responded that a good rule of thumb is content that your users will want to come back to even without a search engine. Sure, that is a good rule of thumb and it is unclear how Google measures that, but still, it is a good rule of thumb.
Here is the Q&A on Twitter:
@prackashsingh A good rule of thumb is what content would you create that would encourage people to come back, even without a search engine?

So with 25% of this site's traffic coming from "direct" sources, I guess maybe it is a good quality site. Besides for the fact that some people hate what is written here. Some people hate the comments. Some people hate the advice. But I do like putting things that are rambling through my brain after scanning the forums and social networks within our community in one place. Some of you like reading it.
So make sure, if you write content, that people do like reading it and want to come back to read more. Easy enough?
