Google is now sending out what I believe are new notifications when a site verified in Google Search Console has seen a drop in clicks, impressions, etc. This alert communicates to the site owner or webmaster that there may be an issue.
Vance Moore III posted a screen shot on Twitter of an alert he received from Google Search Console that read "48% drop in weekly clicks for property https://www.domain.com/" It goes on to read "Search Console analyzed your performance report and found that your site had a substantial drop in clicks last week compared to the previous weeks. This drop is likely due to a drop in clicks for the query "X".
Then it shows the drop in site clicks week over week and the drop in query clicks week or week.
Google added "We believe that the main cause of this query's drop in clicks is a drop in its Search impressions." That implies rankings have dropped for that query I guess?
Here is the screen shot:
Have you ever received one of these types of notifications?
