Google Search Console Notifications To Remove Google+

Google Plus Tombstone

Last night, Google sent out notifications via Google Search Console reminding sites that have added Google+ buttons and other integrations to remove them by March 7th. As you know, Google is killing off Google+, the consumer version, in the next couple of months and Google wants all those Google+ buttons off the web beforehand.

The email says :Google has announced that Google+ for consumers will be sunset. As part of the sunset, all Google+ web integrations will stop serving on March 7, 2019. This has the potential to affect website layouts and/or functionality if no action is taken by website owners." Google added, "Developers are strongly advised to remove related code from their websites as soon as possible."

Here is a copy of the email I was sent from Google about this:

I still use Google+ here and on the interface but I am looking forward to removing one social network from my workflow.
