Google Search Tests Removing Horizontal Rule Line Under Tabs

Google Line

Google is testing removing the HR, thematic line break or horizontal rule line, that is found under the search tabs under the search box in the search results page.

This was first spotted by Sachin Patel who posted about this on SEW and said, "Google appears to be testing the removal of the line below the header in its search results."

I am able to replicate this both with the HR line and without the HR line.

Here it is without the line:

Google Without Hr Line

And with the line:

Google With Hr Line

The hr tag in HTML represents a thematic break or change of topic between paragraph-level content, traditionally rendered as a horizontal line or rule. This is what Google seems to have removed.

This is obviously a small change for most, but it is a change.
