Over the past 24-48 hours, I've been seeing some chatter amongst the SEO communities, a bit more in the black hat space, but still chatter. Chatter of a Google search algorithm update touching down the past couple of days.
Some are saying it reversed their Medic Update downfalls while others aren't sure if it is related to that. This is all really new and most of the tracking tools show almost no fluctuations over the past day or so. Some of the tools do show the fluctuations but most don't.
The WebmasterWorld and Black Hat World communities have this to say:
yep. My rankings almost got back where they were before the medic update.
Hit me big time. Top 10 ranking pages are now on page 2 -3.content original, long, over 1500 words. Established website with good links no PBN. No idea whats going on.
I dont know whether to add more content, increase KW density or wait it out.
Same for me, I didn't change anything on my site, I think Google did a reset
Traffic went to 1.5k from 4k
All my rankings are the same as before the Dickme Update. Same algorithm methinks.
Well, that would explain yesterday's increase in traffic over last year. Today, though, is also considerably higher than last year, so we'll see how it goes.
The chatter is not huge, it is not at levels of a larger update, but it is more chatter than the norm. Maybe it is a tweak, maybe it is a smaller more targeted update or maybe it is nothing. It is hard to tell so early on.
