Remember the unconfirmed Google update from November 19th? Well, there is speculation that there are still fluctuations around that update that are continuing to roll out.
Glenn Gabe is following it pretty closely and he posted on Twitter that he saw the November 19th update, then saw a flutter with it on December 4th and then again on December 10th. He even posted this SEM Rush chart to show the trend:
There are threads at both WebmasterWorld and Black Hat World with webmasters talking about Google ranking fluctuations. I'll embed here some comments starting around the 10th but they continue through today:
Today has been a definite uptick compared to the rest of the month. Both traffic and conversions are up. I am in the technology e-commerce industry. All rankings seem to be steady with no or very little changes, but somehow traffic and conversions are up about 15-20%
Traffic and sales from Google this weekend were bad. Mozcast shows some SERP changes on Saturday. Feels like Google taking another swing with a club over our heads.
on Dec 10saw a decline... And going steep down , so far i have had this site averagely steady from 2011 with no panda or penguin issues like i said.
There was a bigger spike than December 10th yesterday, yet nobody has said anything about that.
Here are some of the tweets:
Tremors continue from the 11/19 update. Seeing a lot of movement on 12/4 & 12/10 across sites impacted on 11/19 pic.twitter.com/JsHzODYIT5

@glenngabe Definitely a slow roll out. G Either trying to "hide" it or technical reasons again...

The only automated tracking tool that shows a spike on December 10th is from RankRanger, the others don't show much. Mozcast shows on the 12th though.
Did you notice changes on December 10th?
