Google announced yesterday that now when you do a search for restaurants, Google will show you "reviews from top critics and best-of lists from reputable publishers."
So if you search for [chinese restaurant] or [italian restaurant], etc. Google will give you a way to click into the reviews from these experts.

Elizabeth from Google added in this Google My Business thread that the "Top Lists will be chosen algorithmically, and clicking on the list in the place page will take users to that site."
