Under a year ago Google updated the how search works portal which is over here. Before that, it was launched in 2013 and was not updated that much since.
Danny Sullivan said Google is currently working on updating the portal again. It is unclear what is being updated exactly, but it might just be around how search experiments work. Here are the tweets:

Google recently translated the portal into over 40 languages, so making an update to the portal will require a lot of additional translation work.
People are somewhat concerned over why the no search results experiment is called an "experiment" when it is live for 100% of all users. That is why it has come up.
